About the Armored Elegance Collection
The Armored Elegance collection addresses a specific problem in cosplay: armour that looks impressive in photographs but is too heavy, too fragile, or too impractical for extended convention wear. Every piece in this collection is built around the principle that convention armour must survive a full day of wear, crowd navigation, the occasional photo pose that requires movement, and packing into a costume bag at the end of the day.
The collection currently includes pauldrons (shoulder armour with integrated upper arm guards), greaves (lower leg armour), and bracers (forearm guards). Individual pieces can be ordered separately; a full matching set is available at a combined price. Custom pieces — additional armour components to complete a specific character's kit — can be commissioned through the standard commission process.
Construction Method
All pieces use the standard EVA foam over Worbla construction method that Heidi also uses in her commission work (see the Steampunk Wonder Woman build for an example). The process: EVA foam carved to the specific armour shape; Worbla thermoplastic applied over the foam and heat-formed to the final shape; surface detail elements added; multiple-layer paint finishing (base, metallic dry-brush over raised edges, dark wash into recesses, highlight, sealant).
The result looks convincingly metallic in person and photographs as real armour. The total weight of the full three-piece set (pauldrons, greaves, bracers) is approximately 1.2kg — light enough for all-day wear without fatigue.
Attachment Systems
All pieces attach with adjustable strapping systems using quality buckles. The pauldrons attach at the shoulder and upper arm; the greaves at the shin and calf; the bracers at the forearm and wrist. All straps are adjustable across a significant range of body sizes. Custom sizing for non-standard proportions is available — provide your measurements when ordering.
Colour Options
Standard finish is silver-metallic with aged highlights. Bronze, gold, and dark-iron finishes are available. Custom colour schemes to match a specific character's armour design can be accommodated — contact with reference images for a quote on custom finishing.
