About Scrunch Style
The Chimera Costumes scrunchie collection applies the same sourcing philosophy to hair accessories as to everything else: why settle for what's commercially available when you can have exactly what you want? Heidi makes scrunchies in the same rotating collection of fandom fabrics — the character prints, the geeky patterns, the specialty textiles — that she uses across the rest of her work. The result is a hair accessory that's also a costume detail, a fandom expression, or simply the exact color that completes your outfit.
The $95 price covers a set of five scrunchies in coordinating or contrasting fabrics of your choice. Single scrunchies are also available at $25 each.
Construction
Each scrunchie is constructed with a quality elastic core enclosed in a fabric tube of the correct circumference for the chosen fabric — thicker, stiffer fabrics need a wider tube than silky fabrics to gather correctly and look full. The tube is cut on the bias for silky fabrics (which produce a better drape on the bias grain) or on the straight grain for fabrics where pattern matching is desirable. The seam is finished with a French seam so no raw edges are visible. The elastic is the correct weight for the tube diameter — strong enough to hold the hair without pulling or tangling.
These are genuinely constructed accessories, not the tied-tube scrunchies that disintegrate after a month of use.

Satin, silk, and silk-adjacent fabrics produce a smooth, elegant scrunchie that works well for formal events. Fandom print cotton scrunchies are the most expressive option.
